Radical Heights
Community Server
Radical Heights is playable again. Redeem an invite code, sign in to the community server, and you're back in the game show.
What it is
The launcher
A small program that starts the show. It opens your copy of Radical Heights, connects it to the community server and adds some community fixes.
Grab it from Mod Updates.
Your invite code
Your contestant badge. Redeem it once in the launcher and you've got an account on the community server, with no Steam login needed.
Join the Discord to get yours.
The community server
Everyone plays together on one server. Your account, your cash and cosmetics are stored there. Matches run in more than one region, and more can be added as players need them.
Join us. Come on down.

What we've brought back
Sign in
You sign in with a name and password you picked, no Steam needed, and the game goes straight to the menus like it used to.
The menus
The menus work again. Your profile, the news and the store all load the way they used to.
Friends and parties
Add your mates, party up and invite them into your lobby, the way the game always did.
Matchmaking
Matchmaking is back on. Queue up solo or as a duo, and now as a squad too, something the original never switched on.
The match
The match plays exactly like it always did: the drop, the loot, the BMX bikes, the vending machines, and the play area closing in on you one grid square at a time.
Banked cash and progress
Bank your cash at the ATM and it's waiting for you next match, and your stats are there the next time you sign in.
Prize room and store
The prize room is open, with every cosmetic the game ever sold, and you buy them with the cash you earn in matches. See every cosmetic.
Your profile and kill card
Pick your portrait, frame and background, and the player you take out sees them on your kill card.
What you need
-
Your own copy of Radical Heights
For most people that's the one in their Steam library, installed like any other game. We ship none of the game's files, so you need your own copy to play.
-
64-bit Windows
The game only ever came out for Windows, and that's what the mod runs on. Linux through Proton is untested.
-
The launcher
Grab it from Mod Updates, run it and sign in.
-
An invite code
Redeem it once in the launcher and that's your account made. Join the Discord to get one.
What's gone, on purpose
Radical Heights used to lean on Steam, Boss Key's servers and a handful of other companies for things like signing in, purchases and crash reports. We switched all of that off. The game talks to the community server and nothing else.
There's no anti-cheat either, and if it ever comes to it we'll add one. For now this is for fun, but anyone caught cheating gets banned, so if you see someone exploiting, report them with the game's own report button.

All of it switched off. On with the show.
From the audience
Do I need to own Radical Heights?
Yes. You need your own copy of the game, installed; for most people that's the one in their Steam library. We don't ship any of its files, so there's nothing here to play without it.
Is it free?
Everything in the game is. Every item the store sold is there for the game's own cash, and no real money changes hands inside it. Getting in takes an invite code, redeemed once in the launcher, and the Discord is where you get one. If you want to help with the server bill, there's Ko-fi.
Why do I need an invite code?
Because one person runs this, on one server, with no anti-cheat. An invite code means everyone playing came in through the Discord, where you ask for yours and where we can sort anything out if it goes wrong. It takes a minute, and you only redeem it once.
Does it change the game?
No. The game stays the game, quirks and all. The only changes connect it to the community server instead of a dead one, plus a few fixes we chose on purpose, like switching Squads on.
Where does it run?
On the community server, which we run, with match servers in more than one region. The launcher connects to it out of the box. Redeem your invite code, sign in, and you're in the same lobby as everyone else.
Can I host my own server?
Not yet. The whole thing will be open source down the line, so eventually you'll be able to run your own. For now there's one community server, ours, while the code gets into a state fit to release.
Is there anti-cheat?
No, and if it ever comes to it we'll add one. For now this is for fun, but anyone caught cheating gets banned. If you see someone exploiting, report them with the game's own report button.
Is it out?
Yes. v0.1.9 is the current episode, with everything that's in it on Mod Updates. New releases drop there and on the Discord first.
